Altruismusic philosophy
Altruismusic was spawned out of a vision for music to evolve, over time to being a conduit for our thoughts on peace and our thoughts on antagonists to peace. Peace in the west, or rather the absence of war is not good enough. The inequalities that keep the rich and safe getting richer and safer are at present the same ones which are presently ensuring that the poor get poorer and more unsafe. When music only seems to be about our finite mollycoddled concerns in the west, then music dissappoints me. Music falling prey to the same media forces that make what posh spice is wearing on equal par with children being bombed to death in Iraq is my worst nightmare. So Altruismusic provides incentives such as recording deals/contracts and internet exposure for artists who are reinventing where music is going in the broadest sense.

Hi! You\’ve got a very good site indeed! Keep up the good work.
Hey there. Some very interesting concepts that your label is involved in.
I’ve started up a label out of Blackheath.
Would be great to compare notes sometime.
Sure Nathan sounds good , did you know i’m launching the Label at the Clarendon in Katoomba on Thursday the 20th of Nov.you should come along you know because you get a free 6 hour 70 song MP3 Cd (featuring around 25 artists) on the night and theres three hours of live music and five excellent acts. it starts at 8pm, chow 4 now- Ash
Hey Ash – I would like to sell your CDs in Byron Bay – can we do that? Was lovely to run into you in the street here a while back. Hope you are travelling ok. I am working with some guys from central coast at the moment – The Mojo Bluesmen – http://www.myspace.com/mojobluesmen. Raw powerhouse Delta blues. Always remember your music as so powerful and sensitive and driven. People here have been asking “who is that” and saying “that’s great music” as I have been listening to your site this evening. Very best to you – Lorraine
I was just looking over some notes I had written about my Australia trip, remembering places like Katoomba. Are you still there in town making music or have you moved on or back (Melbourne way)? I was the guy busking with a trumpet you recorded some tracks from. Actually, it’d be interesting to see/hear if you made any use of them – that was a nice song. I was trying to remember what it was called, something about a girl you had just stopped seeing. Anyway, cheers from Seattle – Trip
